About
Ayurvedic what? That is what I thought when I first read the word, and I certainly could not pronounce it. (Eye-yer-vay-dah)
My name is Brenda, I started Essential Balance Skin Care in 2006 in North Seattle, Washington and after a brief closing with Covid-19 and my business partner passing, I reopened my business in Kirkland, Washington.
I graduated from the Euro Institute in Renton and received my training and license for Ayurvedic Skin Care. Over the years I have continued to learn and practice more of the Ayurvedic principles. Ayurveda is thousands of years old and honors your bodies intelligence and timetable. I practice the "Ayurveda Way" in small ways and over time these changes have added up. It was not this big overhaul of everything. It has taught me how to align with my true nature that started with skin care and transferred to my lifestyle in ways that listen to that little voice that has created this lovely balance. I read "Ayurveda meets you where you are, but does not leave you where it found you" Unknown author.
I had gotten facials before, but it was not always the best outcome. With my dosha being Pitta-Kapha, I had overly sensitive, inflamed skin and had filled my bathroom drawers with many assorted products, with not much long-term success in calming my skin. Hence facials were not my favorite thing.
At the Euro Institute I was introduced to Ayurvedic skin care and how to support beautiful skin with minimal effort. Before the training, I was trying everything and just doing too much. Ayurvedic is about less is more and it looks at the root cause of any issue and addresses it from the source. Ayurveda combines the elements of nature with balanced natural ingredients to create radiant skin and it reinforces that real beauty reflects inner balance.
So how will this help my skin, and how does one recognize and reach a balance, you ask?
Let's start by asking "What's your dosha?"
That's the least amount you need to know. Ayurveda is a process and one best to be digested in bite-sized pieces.
I look forward to helping you on this journey to your best skin and better self. Think of Ayurveda as a hobby, start small and practice. Practice some new ways and perhaps create habits that allow you to explore by turning your attention on you and find that self-acceptance that assist you in to settling and being that authentic self. Try it and feel the simplicity of the Ayurveda Way.
